Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy Evaluation Services

Functional Capacity evaluations:

This evaluation is administered by a licensed physical therapist or a licensed occupational therapist to provide a set of specific objective tests and clinical observations to analyze one’s ability to function. This can be used for specific occupations for general physical demand levels. XcelABLE uses a computerized evaluation system that is proven in evidence-based research to provide reliable and valid results and effectively measure consistent effort.

This evaluation is performed for determining the following:

  • Disability
  • Impairment
  • Permanent or Temporary restrictions for work

A functional capacity evaluation (FCE) is frequently used in legal cases to determine how an injury has impacted an individual’s ability to function or return-to-work. It may also be requested to determine the extent of disability as a result of the injury. Specific measures are taken throughout the evaluation to ensure reliability and validity with all evaluations.

The FCE is comprehensive and requires analysis of a medical professional who is trained in providing this type of evaluation. All of our FCE evaluators are certified and have over five years of experience as an occupational therapist or physical therapist.

Ergonomic Evaluation:

The goal of an ergonomic assessment is to identify and reduce risk areas in the employee’s workstation that put them at an increased chance of injury.  The assessment is administered by a licensed physical or licensed occupational therapist and includes educating the employee about the proper positions and postures to maintain while performing their individual job duties.  For those individuals that cannot be accessed by one of our consultants or if an on-site evaluation does not fit within the fiscal budget, we do offer remote ergonomic assessments.
